Location: Stavanger, travel is an essential job function (domestic, international, and offshore).
JOB PURPOSE:
- Manage Technical Safety requirements and activities within the Norway Technical Support group.
- Ensure the processes and protocols are in place to deliver effective SME expertise when required.
- Providing direct technical safety guidance to the technical team in support of rig operations on technical matters.
- Work closely with all members in company’s organization to ensure Functionality, Availability, Reliability, Survivability and Interaction of all equipment on company's vessels are operated and maintained in accordance with IACS rules, Flag state (Liberia), Coastal State legislation and verification bodies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote company Core Values on Health, Safety and Environment
- Ensure organization works within the company systems (CMMS, JDE, RIM Drill, etc.)
- Ensure adherence is maintained with Local Coastal State Regulatory requirements.
- Ensure improvement / development of functional design solutions and safety systems and barriers according to relevant regulations and design standards.
- Responsible for planning and execution of technical safety related engineering activities in projects.
- Perform technical safety analysis and assessments from CMMS, establish, verify, and update documentation and drawings as required
- Development of operational performance standards
- Support monitoring and authoring of Performance Standards
- Multidiscipline collaboration internally and with clients.
- Reviewing and commenting on technical documentation submitted by key contractors, including technical deliverables, TQs etc.
- Prepare and contribute to safety / design reviews.
- Work closely with all members of company’s organization, onshore and offshore to enhance maintenance undertaken onboard rigs in the Norwegian Continental Shelf
- Develop and maintain relationships with strategic vendors and other industry professionals. Participate in industry body forums (IADC,BROA Etc)
- Promote continuous improvement with ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 standards.
- Support the Technical Manager and HSE Manager with technical safety expertise and advice.
- Promote development and maintaining of safety critical systems.
- Ensure ongoing development on performance standards for all critical equipment
- Monitor equipment failures, looking for any trends and work with OEM's and corporate maintenance to improve reliability or identify modifications to reduce the failure rate and optimize uptime.
- Conduct regular review of maintenance assigned to safety and PS systems for continued compliance with the regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or comparable experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience from Norwegian offshore engineering.
- Strong Technical Safety background with significant experience working under the Norwegian, safety and environmental legislative framework.
- Excellent Knowledge of Norwegian offshore regulations and NORSOK standards along with ISO and API
- Good multidiscipline understanding, and the ability to work both in teams as well as independently.
- Experience with HAZOP, HAZID, consequence Classification and FMEAs for offshore processes, demonstrating a thorough understanding of risk assessments methodologies and a track record of implementing effective safety measures.
- Experience with F&G / ESD philosophies, C&E documents.
- Experience in functional safety and SIL assessments.
- Good knowledge of Norwegian and English both verbally and written language.
- Structured, systematic, proactive & service focused.
Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership and management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other appropriate software.
- Excellent understanding of offshore operations and requirements of a support organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication / interpersonal skills.
- Travel offshore and international is an essential part of the Job role with all offshore Qualifications to be in date.
