Description about project/department:
We are looking for a Mechanical Rotating Supervisor for Bacalhau offshore phase to ensure that all work related to rotating equipment is prepared, performed, completed, and documented in accordance with rules, regulations, standards, and contract requirements. Your role will be pivotal in working with the Contractor to ensure good installation and testing practices are used, contributing to the provision of solutions for the contractor in difficult areas/situations, and developing and working with local inspectors. You must possess the skills and expertise necessary to troubleshoot and deep dive into issues, i.e., a combination of process and automation background.
Description about task and responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities: • Monitor and report on the Contractor's, subcontractors', and package/equipment vendors' performance with emphasis on HSE, technical quality, and progress. • Be proactive and take corrective actions as required, without undermining Contractor’s responsibility. • Contribute to technical solutions in cooperation with engineering and commissioning. • Ensure that the installed equipment is according to established plans and delivery on time. • Ensure Contractor and vendors deliver acceptable quality. • Ensure timely closing of actions and punch items by Contractor and verification by your team. • Establish close communication with the Contractor from management to individual disciplines. • Ensure dedicated HSE focus by all parties throughout the project. • Ensure high focus on interfaces towards all involved parties and coordination at site. • Interface, cooperate and align with other project areas. • Identify deviations/non-conformities and handle these in accordance with project procedures. • Experience transfer to and from the project.
Competence Requirements:
Qualifications: • Good technical knowledge and experience within the mechanical discipline, preferably related to thermodynamic machinery such as gas-turbines and/or centrifugal compressors. • MSc/BSc with relevant engineering subjects and minimum 5 years of relevant work experience related to installations and testing or similar. Experience may compensate for formal qualifications. • Flexibility, ability, and willingness to travel in addition to take offshore work. Other Competencies or Specific Expertise Necessary for the Position: • Practical background/experience in mechanical/equipment installation to fully support works in the field. • Knowledge of international standards, requirements, and best practices. • Good multidiscipline and interface understanding of the oil & gas business. • Experience from working with Equinor TR's and related API standards for rotating equipment is an expectation. • Excellent troubleshooting and deep-diving skills, including a combination of process and automation background. Personal Qualities: • Good multidiscipline understanding. • Commercial mindset. • Strong HSE focus, in personal behaviour and in consideration of engineering solutions (safety in design) and work in the field. • Strong team player.
