Senior Operations Geologist

In this role, you will be responsible for improving operational effectiveness and cost reduction during well planning and execution.
Operations geology is organised within the D&W department so being a good communicator between the subsurface and drilling department to achieve common goals is of great importance.
Typical tasks will include:

In this role, you will be responsible for improving operational effectiveness and cost reduction during well planning and execution.
Operations geology is organised within the D&W department so being a good communicator between the subsurface and drilling department to achieve common goals is of great importance.
Typical tasks will include:
- Participate as geologist with operations geology knowledge in the planning, operational and post-operational phases of drilling a well
- Contribute to improvement of well trajectory, target definition, operational effectiveness and cost reduction
- Provide and present subsurface drilling hazards assessments and geological programs at pre-spud meetings
- Responsible for Pore Pressure and Fracture Gradient prediction
- During drilling operations, supervise subsurface personnel at the wellsite (e.g. wellsite geologists)
- Responsible for QC/ archiving of acquired data/reports and completion of Final Well report
